The Post-Workout Super Refuel Shake
Who said you can’t have chocolate post-workout? We’ve got the perfect shake to refuel; balanced with carbs, fats and protein to keep you energised, perfect for those wanting to build muscle – recipe below!
+ 1tbsp Hazelnut butter
+ 1tsp Lucuma powder
+ 1 scoop of Chocolate protein
+ 300ml Oat milk
+ 25g Cacao buttons
+ 1/2 Banana
+ Handful of ice
Place all items into a blender until smooth.
What makes this shake so great?
Bananas act as a great pre or post-workout snack. Not only are they a great carbohydrate fix, but they are a fantastic source of potassium, an electrolyte which serves to regulate our blood pressure and fluid balance and keep our nerve and muscle function in check.
Never heard of Lucuma?
Lucuma is a delicious exotic fruit native to South America. Lucuma has a low GI index, making it a great source of slow release carbohydrate. Not only that, but Lucuma has a rich micronutrient profile, providing us with essential vitamins and minerals such as Zinc, Calcium, Niacin, Vitamin C and Iron.
