Class Review: Strength at Train Yard, Clapham

This month’s class review is on the Strength class at ‘Train Yard’ in Clapham North.

Gym Overview

Situated in Southwest London, Train Yard is a gym dedicated to achieving sustainable results through small group strength training sessions.

The strength classes at Train Yard are structured into 4-week blocks, allowing clients to track consistent monthly progress. Since all sessions throughout the day follow the same program, it’s easy for clients to find a class that suits their schedule.

I attended the 8:30 AM Strength Class on a Tuesday, which marked the second week of the new 4-week training block and it was fantastic!

The Workout

Each strength session at Train Yard provides a full-body workout targeting all muscle groups. The sessions typically feature one main compound lift, which clients aim to progress with across the four weeks, as well as a range of other exercises.

Round Up

I had a great experience in this class. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone and left me feeling more confident! Thanks to the small group setting, I felt fully supported throughout the session. Jaz, the instructor, was always on hand with helpful tips and spotted me during the compound lifts, which gave me the confidence to challenge myself with heavier weights, helping me hit a new personal best!

I walked away with the satisfaction of knowing I’d pushed myself to the fullest, but also felt equipped with new skills and techniques to incorporate into my future training.

Big kudos to Jaz, who led the class with fantastic energy and enthusiasm!

Verdict

  • Sweat – 6/10
  • Endorphins – 9/10 – great support and encouragement throughout!
  • Recommendation – 9/10

A massive thank you to Jaz and James for having me down and putting me through my paces – I’ll be back soon for sure!
