5 Festive Mocktails To See You Through Christmas

Whatever your reason for not wanting to drink alcohol over the Christmas period, or maybe you want to drink more mindfully, we’ve got your back with these five fresh festive fixes to see you through and dodge the endless parade of “so why aren’t you drinking?” from relatives.

If you’re not feeling the alcohol this Christmas but don’t want to miss out, take a read and top up your shopping lists!

First up, a classic…

Non-Alcoholic Mulled Wine

(makes 6 servings)

  • 1.5L unsweetened pomegranate juice
  • 150ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 large orange, sliced
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

Mix all ingredients together, and heat (simmer but not boil) for at least half an hour before serving.

We recommend keeping the mixture in the fridge, and heating as needed!

Sparkling Winter Berry Holiday Cocktail

  • 1L cranberry juice
  • ½ L apple juice
  • 100ml grenadine
  • Soda water, to top
  • Frozen berry of choice (for garnish)
  • Sugar rim (optional)

Mix the cranberry juice, apple juice, and grenadine together in a jug and keep for up to three days.

Upon serving, top with soda water, and garnish with a frozen berry.

Optional: wet the rim of the flute and dip in sugar before serving for an extra sweet treat.

Cranberry Bellinis

(makes 2 servings)

  • 150ml cranberry juice
  • 150ml pomegranate juice
  • Top with soda water
  • Juice of one lime wedge
  • Garnish with rosemary

Mix the cranberry juice and pomegranate juice in a shaker then pour into a flute.

Top with soda water then squeeze the lime juice and stir.

Garnish with rosemary and drink up!

Kombucha Spritz

(makes 2 servings)

  • 120ml alcohol-free ‘spirit’
  • 180ml sparkling kombucha
  • Soda water to top

In a glass, pour the ‘spirit’ and kombucha over ice, top with soda water, and garnish with your apple slices.

  • 100ml fresh lime juice
  • 25-50ml maple syrup
  • Sparkling water to top
